bielomatik, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of plastic welding machinery and lubrication systems, seeks a Manufacturing Manager in New Hudson, Michigan. Duties: define production processes, and select and organize machinery and equipment for vibration, hot plate, hot gas, and infrared welding; analyze manufacturing risks, and develop and oversee associated action plans; manage manufacturing launch, and product and process tuning; monitor manufacturing performance (direct productivity, material consumption, lead time, and capacity utilization); monitor the implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies (Six Sigma, 5S, Kanban); lead and organize installation processes for new machines and equipment; consider manufacturing engineering strategies to define and oversee technical staff resource allocation, identify skills gaps, and develop, train and evaluate manufacturing personnel; support continuous improvement initiatives for labor, quality, equipment and tooling, and space utilization, and propose plans to optimize footprint and equipment utilization; support problem solving activities and engineering change management processes; develop and monitor manufacturing engineering budget and CAPEX; develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions; provide manufacturing input to support and validate RFQ; enforce health, safety and environmental policies. Minimum education and experience required: High school diploma and 4 years’ experience in a mechanical technician position with a supplier of plastic welding machinery. Special skills required: Must have 4 years’ work experience in each of the following: building, installing and servicing welding machinery and assemblies; evaluating welding process concepts; developing plastic welding technologies and manufacturing processes for complex machine assemblies; developing tooling specifications for plastic welding machinery; evaluating plastic welding feasibility based on material and design criteria; developing and implementing training programs on plastic welding equipment, machinery and technology; ensuring compliance with welding standards; analyzing and solving issues with plastic welding manufacturing processes, and the maintenance and repair of plastic welding machinery; interpreting customer technical standards for plastic welding; formulating and implementing corrective actions to improve cost efficiency and reduce customer complaints; troubleshooting laser and infrared welding tool design and processes.
