Graduation with a strong practical focus

Collecting more experience never hurts. So, best do the practical part of your dual curriculum where the largest know how and expertise is.

This is exactly what we offer in cooperation with the DHBW Horb and the DHBW Stuttgart. And in doing so, we help promoting the interlocking of theoretical and practical aspects optimally. The result? Becoming a graduate with a high level of skill and knowledge – including specialised and practical knowledge, as well as social competency.

Among other things, we achieve this with projects developed from the practice for putting into practice. Always in action: our instinct for our student’s requirements, trained over decades. This is evidenced in our comprehensive care for students, in how we accompany them until their first day of work, and in how close we cooperate with the universities.

Course of the practical phase for students

specialising in electrical engineering

  • You start in our training workshop and learn the electrical and mechanical basics with a focus on electrical engineering
  • You receive an introduction for our Elektro-CAD-System and our product database
  • Step by step, we introduce you to the efficient working methods of an engineer:

    • At first, you will take on small projects, later will follow more demanding assignments
    • You will continue with your bachelor’s thesis, e.g. ‚Development of a control for a rotary transmission test stand’

  • Always hands-on: you will work not only in front of your computer, but also in assembly. In this way you directly witness the results of your development work in application

specialising in mechatronics

  • You start in our training workshop and learn the electrical and mechanical basics
  • You receive an introduction for our CAD-System, Electro-CAD-System, and our product database
  • Step by step, we introduce you to the efficient working methods of an engineer: from working on challenging projects in mechanical construction up to working in electrical construction in the subsequent semester up to compiling your bachelor’s thesis
  • You bachelor’s thesis may address, depending on your technical background, topics like mechanical construction or electrical construction, for instance, ‚Interpretation and development of the controls of a pneumatically operated lubrication system’
  • Always hands-on: you will work not only in front of your computer, but also in assembly. In this way you directly witness the results of your development work in application

topics for students specialising in mechanical engineering

  • You start in our training workshop and learn the electrical and mechanical basics with a focus on electrical engineering
  • You receive an introduction for our CAD-System and our product database
  • Step by step, we introduce you to the efficient working methods of an engineer:

    • At first, you will take on small projects, later on also more demanding assignments
    • Then you will write your bachelor’s thesis, e.g. about ‚Interpretation and construction of an automated valve test stand’, or ‚Compilation of a product catalogue for central lubrication technology’

  • Always hands-on: you will work not only in front of your computer, but also in assembly. In this way you directly witness the results of your development work in application.

Specialising in industrial engineering

  • You start in our training workshop with a basic course. After that, you will work in different departments, learning about our procedures, gain insights into our day-to-day business and take on projects:

    • At first, in the technical departments, for instance in production control and/or development
    • In the 2nd year, in the commercial departments, for instance in purchasing, accounting/controlling and sales
    • At the end of your studies program you complete a bachelor’s thesis, titled for example ‚Developing a strategy for spare parts pricing’ or ‚Further development of intra-logistical processes of a machine builder from automotive supplier up to medical devices supplier’

  • Always hands-on: in this way you directly witness the results of your development work in application
